Finished "Mafia: Definitive Edition" today. This is what a proper remake/remaster of old classics should look like.
Earlier this year I tried Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning but it felt too old to me and as if there was not that much work done on it. It felt that it did not age well. With Mafia - it's a whole different story. It was as if replaying original game with Mafia 2 engine (which is roughly what they did, if I understand correctly), which meant just the right amount of nostalgia, but with high-fidelity visuals.
Yes, it was not the same game, but still quite a few moments were very close to what I remembered. Especially that legendary race. Still as painful as ever. I really enjoyed this. Definitely better than Mafia 3.
