A recruiter reached out to me today. That's nothing special, of course, but... They definitely did not establish trust with me.

Some might say that I am rude in this chat, and maybe I am: olen rehellinen, as Finns would say, and that's one thing I do not want to change no matter the problems that come with it.

I believe any relationship needs respect. This includes relationship with recruiters. If a recruiter reaches out to you with a potential job opportunity, but does not even tell what kind of opportunity - that's a sign of disrespect for me. If they invite you to go to some other platform (especially the one that shares your PII data like mobile phone) - that's not just disrespect, that's a red flag.

How would you first message with no details spark interest in me? Just the fact that you are registered in UK? What if you want to invite a developer to work as a janitor? Why should this developer waste one's time on reading a statement of work for that one? While also sharing PII.

And then excuse is that SOW is on phone, and not on some "system". This is pure incompetence for a recruiter in my eyes. Let alone that this general approach is, indeed, very similar scam tactic on Russian marketplaces like Avito (about which they warn on every turn even in chat with potential scammers).

And then, if you check SKYWAY TECH SERVICE LTD there are more red flags: page is new (3 months old), most of people who have a job there are recruiters, quite a few has just the company logo for avatar, my router (say what?!) blocks their website...

My point is, if they reach out to you - I would suggest not to trust them.
