It is a good game. Good atmospheric story, ok gameplay. I think it was overhyped even for the time it came out, but "overhyped" does not necessarily mean "overrated". At least not in this case. I also think it is still somewhat better than TV series. TV added some fluff, that did not really add to the main story, although it did expand the lore, and that fluff broke the pacing more often than not. It did integrate "Left Behind" a bit better, though.
BTW, it looks like they fixed the audio volume at some point. When I started playing it I could not use my speakers, because of how quite they were, had to use headphones, but than suddenly the volume was as it was expected. Good to see the fix, since quite a few people were complaining about it.
