I get what they are going for, but the concept seems too forced. Yes, cooking is about math, in a way, since chemistry is about math, and we had Lessons in Chemistry, that used similar concept. But I am not buying this BS about the guy dreaming to be a mathematician, and then suddenly just stopping. Not that it can't happen IRL, it probably can, but would require more build-up. Besides failing on a math trivia or whatever that was probably does not warrant an expulsion, so he should have been able to just sue the principle.
Otherwise... Another food anime with exaggerated food reactions and analysis. Ranna looks cute, but this is just not my type of show.
