Oh, this one is intriguing. The "twist" in the end is kind of predictable quite early in the episode, but everything leading to it was just superb. Clearly introduction of both the world and the character, lots of minor details and natural quirks, great dynamics. This episode alone has enough information to be able to build multiple theories on what's going on, including symbolism and just wording of certain phrases in dialogues. Where Anne Shirley will be healing us, this one will, probably, be breaking us.

I have 2 complaints, though:

  1. Really unnecessary panty-shot in 2nd minute of the show.
  2. Don't put gold fish inside such small containers! They need way more room than you realize to stay healthy: 50 liters per one fish. Don't make them suffer.

Episode 3:

I think they are separate entities. Different voice, different mannerisms, the "current version" looks younger, too, has brighter color of the eyes. It could be done intentionally to show us the difference, so that we treat them differently, though. Definitely did not expect them to start talking about this directly at the end of the episode, though.

Episode 13:

Such a disappointing ending. It was obvious from the start, that this world was created by Kudo, so the "plot twist" was weak. It was made even weaker when some old dude turned up and he knew that from the start. Even weaker with introduction of some "magic" and the cube (which was man-made!) just disappearing. Which makes even less sense, considering that Hebe-something family was being forced into the whole story as some "evil" family, that caused all grief. Let alone that the guy's/girl's motivation was weak: being adopted for the sake of treatment of his/her mother? What? And then doctor kept a secret about his/her father's dementia for a year? I guess the white guy was there just for vibes, too?

But what's worse, I did not feel any real emotions from this. Kudo was agonizing over Kurenai B's death, and then over his "release", but it felt shallow, because... I did not care that much for their relationship, because it was not particularly heart-warming or anything. They had some philosophical talks or whatever, but was there love? Love with marriage in mind? I did not see that, at all. While Kudo's stress was understandable, I just did not believe him being as stressed that the magical cube (man-made, remind you!) turned his stress into a time loop of sorts.

Kurenai is not much better, too. She is a more interesting (and rounded, if you know what I mean) character, yes, but mostly because of this "amnesia". But did she actually change from the start of the series? Besides dropping glasses, that is. I do not think so, but maybe I missed something. Like... Live-action? Maybe that one is supposed to make the KudoXKurenai love and their growth more noticeable? Doubt it, though. And how were we supposed to watch them in parallel, if movie airs later?

Overall, disappointing and underwhelming show, based mostly on vibes.
