Definitely better than live-action Snow White. Still kind of trash, but at least it's not trying to anything, including itself, seriously. That alone makes it... Tolerable. And probably an ok kids' movie, but that's it. While it does try to be like the "Mario" the quality of humor is far too low even compared to that one. I think it's mostly hyped because it's just better than quite a few recent movies. Personally, I would, probably, prefer Sonic 3, even though Minecraft is also trying to have vibes similar to Jumanji or Casper or similar movies of the past. Which is another reason why it's better than Snow White. I mean, from pure narrative structure perspective, I would only move the segment with Steve from beginning to when he meets the rest of the characters. Nevertheless it will escape my mind in a couple of hours.
