That's definitely not a teaching approach I would support.

It's good to remind your pupil, that they still have a lot to learn, but shoving it in their face, like the blonde is doing, is just too much. I know, for example, beginner artists often loose confidence, when they draw... I dunno, an apple, and then someone shows them a picture of cornucopia or something and makes a comparison between them. And not in "some day, you will be able to do draw just as good or even better", but in "loser, you can't draw like this". That's just... No. Just, no.

What's worse, the blonde seemed to change for a split moment, after she learnt that the guy can become some "chosen one", whatever it means. And even that was just with words, because after after saying, that she does not want him to be like her, she resumed same treatment. And we can already see negative affects from that, surprisingly similar to Zutaboro: he does not believe that he is strong enough, and thus accepts further abusive behavior, similar to Marie, but... Happier?

Not sure where they are going with this, will give it a chance still, but I expect, that it will turn out, that Lloyd is Sybil, and Sybil, who "sacrificed himself" just de-aged, lost memories, and maybe part of powers to become Lloyd or something. Even if not, I do not see a hook in the story yet, which is not a good sign.

Episode 2:

Yes, I already forgot what happened last episode, give me 3 minutes of recaps, and don't forget to mix them with flashbacks to keep me on my toes. As expected, I did not notice anything special in the 2nd episode. Instead I almost felt pity for this guy not realizing his power. Which is a common trope, but makes little sense here, since he specifically went adventuring to get stronger, so he should have been interacting with people even outside that "hero party".

Anyway, if you some show about a person realizing how awesome they are, Zutaboro looks to be a better one. Unless you specifically need some magic stuff.
