Is he constantly maintaining that ice on the spear? Or can he create ice that never melts? I get that with the sword he seems to be maintaining the shape intentionally, at least. Although unclear why it needs another ice blade over whatever other blade it has. And why did Dullahan even give him the sword (let alone train)? I get it that the thing was not hostile or anything, but what merit did it have in that? Was it there just to move the plot forward? Not sure there is much point in that "hidden trait" (and why it should be hidden), unless the story is meant to span a very (if not extremely) long time. Otherwise seems quite grounded, and logical, but perhaps a bit too grounded. Like, it was not particularly fun, at least considering that this is a world of magic. But we'll see how it progresses.
