I think the ending was fumbled hard. I can understand the open ending of the anime adaptation, since it did not adapt the whole story, but the way it was done here is not good. It feels really incomplete. I know there is a continuation of the story in another manga, but it's just not good. Even Boruto's first manga had an ending that made you anticipate the continuation, because it implied some good stuff. Here it's more like "you will read, because we blue-balled you and you we know you want to reach the sweet release".
Aside from that... Well, it's still not that great. I do not think it escalates things properly, because it's trying to implement rules on the go, rather then establishing them beforehand and then following them, while revealing them bit by bit. I am thinking of "Magical Girl Apocalypse" and "Magical Girl Website", where they went much crazier and escalated to an extreme, but the progression felt more natural, I guess. And those mangas were way more brutal both in terms of gore and plot-twists, while "Invasion" mellows down at some point and starts to feel almost like a children's story.
Either way, I will be reading the continuation, because I was blue-balled and I want to reach the sweet release of an actual resolution of the story. It's just my hopes are not that high.
