Satoru YUMIYA est le fils d'une famille originaire de Gridania.
Son père (facteur d'arc) souhaitant perfectionner son art, entreprit un voyage jusqu'en Hingashi afin d'y acquérir de nouvelles techniques.
Sa mère (érudite) avait toujours accompagné son époux dans ces pérégrinations pour parfaire ses connaissances du monde.
Le savoir-faire gridanien de son père fût remarqué par un noble du Bakufu, de passage à Kugane.
Sur son invitation, le couple quitta l'île de SHISHU pour se rendre sur l'île KOSHU.
A partir de ce moment, leur nom de famille devint YUMIYA.
C'est ainsi que Satoru est né à Bukyo (capitale de Hingashi). Son enfance fut bercée entre archerie et érudition.
La fin de la sixième ère astrale ayant profondément marqué Satoru, il voulut se rendre utile. La carrière d'aventurier était donc faite pour lui.
Après avoir pris conseil auprès de ses parents, Satoru se rendit à Gridania pour suivre une formation avancée en archerie.
